Goose Island's 312 Block Party

September 24, 2018 by Chalonda White

American Wild Ale

Picture it! Chicago 2018, the weather was crisp as we roll out of summer and into a gentle fall and you are at one of Chicago’s most epic block parties to hit the city every year. Well, if you wasn’t there, I was so let me tell you about it.  This past weekend was the perfect way to close out summer with Goose Island’s 7th annual 312 Block Party. A $10 suggested donation, gave you access to over 20 different beers for $3.00 including their exclusive and rare beers.

3.00 exclusive beers

This was my first time attending this party and I have to admit, I had a damn good time. The beers were flowing in abundance and the mood was chill as everyone was vibing to music on one of 2 stages. One stage was dedicated to local acts only, which is where I have discovered my new found love for Glitter Moneyy a female rap duo that describes themselves as, “Sexy, partying, equality demanding, champagne guzzling, politically pissed rap duo. Destroying the patriarchy one second at a time” and Ric Wilson a soulful and energetic performer that really knows how to engage his audience.

For me, there isn’t much more than I can really say, but this is a party that one has to experience for themselves. The fun of it all for me was the constant rotation of the secret stash beers, which really hit me hard by the end of the night. The best way I can really close this out is by saying that Damn! Goose Island really knows how to party and I look forward to next year’s.
