EP. 23 - Black is Beautiful
In this week's episode, I am joined by Cinque Brathwaite, the son/nephew of the true Black is Beautiful movement founders of the 60s. He discusses how his father Elombe Brath and uncle Kwame Brathwaite formed AJASS (African Jazz Art Society & Studio ) and The Grandassa Models to break barriers to showcase the natural beauty of black women, a movement that went beyond America's standard of beauty but reached international traction as well.
Kwame Brathwaite one of the founders of AJASS & The Grandassa Models along with his brother Elombe Brath, lead to the Black is Beautiful movement.
